Hello! I'm Kyla. I've been teaching for 12 years. I love teaching and watching all my kids learn and grow. I can't believe my first class of 2nd graders are already graduated. And whether they like it or not they will always be my 'babes.'
I am from a small town close to Omaha, Nebraska. I attended Emporia State University in Kansas. I then attended MidAmerica Nazarene University for my Masters.
I love watching the Huskers, especially football and volleyball. I have two brothers and two totally amazingly awesome nephews. My older brother and nephews live in San Antonio, Texas. They are one of the reasons I moved to San Antonio. . My parents and younger brother still live in Nebraska and I visit them as often as I can.
I enjoy going to the gym, my favorite coffee shop, and spending time with family and friends. I love Netflix and Nutella, sometimes even at the same time. I would love to learn to ballroom dance some day, but for now I'm content with dance parties in the classroom for a brain break or two. I believe that everyone can learn, just not on the same day or in the same way. Know that when your child comes into my room they are safe and loved. I call my students "my kids" because in the year we will spend together they are not just kids in my classroom, they become a part of my heart!
Let's make every day a day to learn something new!
